PRACTICE STAFF
Practice
Management
Our practice manager is Mrs Beth Roberts who is
assisted by Mrs Bethan Robshaw.
Together, under the direction of Mrs
Roberts, they are responsible for the day-to-day running of the surgery and supervision
of all administration/reception staff.
Should you experience any difficulties
in obtaining your requirements you can address your complaint either verbally
or in writing to our practice manager who will endeavour to resolve the problem
to your satisfaction.
If you feel that the nature of the complaint is
such that its resolution would be better dealt with outside of the practice then
you should submit your complaint in writing to The Primary Care Officer at the
Denbighshire Local Health Board.
Administration/Reception
Our administration/reception team consists of 37 members.
Out of necessity and largely due to our commitment to remain wholly accessible
to patients throughout the working day, the role of our administration/reception
staff is interchangeable.
In-house training is ongoing in respect of
all members of the team, who are all required periodically to undergo external
training courses, organised by our accountable body, The Denbighshire Local Health
Board, which upon successful completion leads to a recognised national diploma.
Practice Nurses
The duties
of our practice sisters are significantly extended beyond those normally associated
with the nursing profession. Our nurses provide cervical smears and travel immunisation
as well as running many of our health promotion programmes. Do not be surprised
to be offered an appointment with a nurse if you need a routine blood pressure
or diabetes and asthma check - a nurse may well be able to spend more time with
you than your doctor.
Practice Pharmacist
The practice has a part-time practice pharmacist and a part-time pharmacy technician to help us maintain and improve the quality of our prescriptions. The practice pharmacist, Julia Blakeman, is able to prescribe treatment for high blood pressure in her own right.
EDUCATION
Being such a large practice, we are clearly of importance
in the further education of doctors and nurses, so from time to time your doctor
may have a trainee doctor, medical student or student nurse present in the consulting
rooms with you. You will be asked if you have any objection to this, and if you
have, the student will be asked to leave.
On occasion, your consultation
may be videoed as a learning tool for doctors. You will always be informed if
this is going to happen and if you object, the video will be turned off. Any consultations
videoed will be used only for medical education and will be treated with absolute
confidentiality.
